Judicial Activities to be performed by the Federal Judiciary between May 6 and 31, 2020

On April 27, 2020, due to COVID-19 contingency, the Plenary Sessions of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and the Federal Judiciary Council established the work scheme, scope and limitations of judicial activities.

The Plenary Session of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation agreed that it could rule on requests for the suspension of urgent constitutional disputes and order all the actions required to fulfill them. It also agreed to hold remote sessions, for which electronic promotions may be submitted.

Likewise, the Federal Judiciary Council determined that the Courts resolve those cases in which only the sentence is pending. Said courts may also continue cases that can be processed online.

The Council also extended the statutory presumptions to process new legal actions. To this end, the courts of law shall consider the regulatory framework of the case filed, the human rights involved, the significance of their eventual violation and the danger of delays.

Please feel free to contact us if you require any information to file an "amparo" proceeding within the contingency framework, or other statutory presumptions to file it.
