New Normality Rules in Mexico

Today, the Department of Health published the resolution whereby the strategy to reactivate social, education and economic activities is established in the Federal Official Gazette. This resolution establishes three stages:

TThe corporations have expressed uncertainty on the operation of the new system. These corporations have doubts on the parameters allowing the restart of activities in some municipalities starting on June 1. The declarations of the authorities also show contradictions that require to be clarified.

The President of the Republic indicated that the new strategy must be voluntarily fulfilled, and that no corrective measures will be imposed on non-compliant persons. Conversely, the Deputy Secretary López-Gatell mentioned that these measures are mandatory. The resolution published today does not contain a penalization system. What happens if a corporation deems itself to be essential, even though its sector has not been expressly designated as such by the Government?

Corporations will need to comply with a series of health rules within their premises in order to start their activities. The proper implementation of such rules is very important. What happens if they do not implement these measures properly?
